Daucus carota – Wild carrot/Chocolate Lace flower
The elegant umbellifer flowers range from a soft brownish pink to burgundy so that each flower is a slightly different shade giving it a beguiling painterly effect. They are borne on tall stems and if picked regularly it will flower for up to eight weeks. The flowers are followed by equally beautiful sculptural seedheads. This must have cut flower looks good with any colour, it is a great neutral bringing colours together and adding a wild, meadow feel to designs.
