Astrantia major mix – Masterwort
Star-shaped flowers in a muted mix of pinks, greens and whites. If you keep cutting and watering it will produce stems all summer. A choice filler to add a naturalising texture to the more formal focal flowers of peonies, roses and dahlias.

Growing tips: best sown fresh in the autumn and overwintered in a cold frame as they are cold-germinators.
Harvesting/Arranging tips: pick when bracts on central flowers are fully open, do not use when it is going over as it develops a rather unpleasant smell.
