Enjoy a full day of floral indulgence this April. We will be focusing on spring flowering bulbs, which are amongst Rachel’s favourite flowers to work with. She will share her growing tips and suppliers for the best cut flower quality stems. There will be an array of Blousy ranunculus in soft, pastels and rich, jewel tones taking centre stage. These will be accompanied by panda eyed anemones, cream, apricot and lemon scented narcissi and of course decadent satin-petalled tulips. To temper all the sweetness, sour, muddy notes will be provided by hellebores and fritillaries.

In our orchard, field and hedges we will also be harvesting twiggy sprays of blossom and newly emerged foliage from our woody plants to use as supporting and framework elements.

Rachel will show you how to pick and condition for optimum vase life and then demonstrate how she brings all of these gorgeous materials into an arrngement, translating the garden to the vase, or in this case to one of her hand thrown footed bowls using sustainable floristry techniques.

After a two course home cooked lunch you will turn your hand to creating an informal hand tied bouquet in a garden-gathered style.

Go home with your bowl arrangement and bouquet, lots of growing and arranging tips and some seeds so you will have plenty to pick in your own cutting gardens during the coming year.
